Bisly Takes Part in Japanese Biggest Electronics Fair CEATEC 2022

Bisly's expansion into the Japanese market gained momentum this year as the company secured a spot among European firms selected for CEATEC 2022, Japan's premier electronics exhibition. This participation followed the company's success in JETRO's "Japan Challenge for Society 5.0 – Accelerate Innovation with Japan" competition, which opened doors to collaborative opportunities and industry connections.

Held annually in October, CEATEC rivals CES in the United States and IFA in Europe in terms of influence and scale.

"The Japanese market is huge and holds a lot of potential for Bisly, as Smart City and Smart Living solutions have been created and highly valued in Japan for a while now."

Rene Üpraus, co-founder and sales director

Bisly has initiated cooperation discussions with several major Japanese corporations and received encouraging responses regarding its smart building systems. Üpraus noted that face-to-face engagement at trade shows strengthens customer relationships, though he acknowledged that "Building relationships takes longer in Japan, so it's important to remain patient."

National energy saving requirements are driving the Japanese smart building automations market

The primary barrier to smart building adoption in Japan has been system complexity and cost. Bisly's scalable, affordable technology addresses this gap by enabling rapid installation without specialized expertise. The platform integrates various building systems-lighting, heating, cooling-into coordinated operations that optimize energy consumption.

Japan's substantial construction activity, government subsidies, and mandatory energy-saving legislation are accelerating market growth. The nation enacted energy conservation laws to reduce building consumption, simultaneously driving demand for efficiency solutions. Industry projections indicate the Japanese building automation market will reach approximately USD 10 billion by 2024.
