Bisly raises €3.6M for energy-saving building automation in EU

Bisly, a Tallinn-based startup focused on making energy-efficient buildings economically feasible, has secured €3.6 million in funding. The round was led by Aconterra, with backing from Second Century Ventures, REACH UK, SmartCap Green Fund, Pinorena Capital, and several angel investors.

The company currently collaborates with over 25 real estate developers and funds on both commercial and residential properties. The new capital will support expansion across Europe, with particular focus on the Nordic region, DACH, and the UK.

The intelligent building sector represents a significant market opportunity. The global market is valued at $86 billion and is projected to grow at 11.4% annually, reaching $148 billion by 2027. Growth drivers include elevated energy costs and ESG requirements.

European building standards demand substantial efficiency improvements. The EU's energy performance directive mandates that 75% of current building stock must meet new standards to support carbon neutrality targets by 2050.

Bisly differentiates itself through reduced costs compared to legacy solutions. "With our unified intelligent building platform, Bisly is simplifying a very complex industry" addressing climate challenges, according to CEO Siim Vips.

The company achieved market leadership in Estonia, capturing over 25% of the building automation market within five years. Its pricing model offers flexibility through SaaS fees with one-time installation costs for residential projects or monthly subscriptions for commercial deployments.
